    The National Organization of Italian American Women Scholarship

    Since 1980, the National Organization of Italian American Women (NOIAW) has awarded scholarships annually to women of Italian descent who have achieved academic success. While their academic passions vary, all of their scholarship winners share a strong connection to their Italian heritage and a history of academic excellence. NOIAW give preferential consideration to applicants who have demonstrated excellence in fields of study of Italian language and/or culture. In view of their relationship with CUNY, they give special consideration to current students of CUNY.

    Award / Eligibility Details:

    NOIAW’s scholarship program is open to female undergraduate or graduate students, currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited US academic institution. Undergraduate students must be enrolled at a four-year college or university. Applicants must have at least one ancestor of Italian descent. They also require a minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrated financial need. Applicants must also be citizens of the United States.

    Deadline: Late March each year

    Type/Purpose: Graduate School Funding, Undergraduate Level Funding

    Field of study: All, Arts & Humanities, Business, Education/Teaching, Public Affairs/Policy, Social Sciences, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

    Citizenship eligibility: US Citizen, US National

    Special Circumstances: Extreme financial need, Female
