Princeton in Latin America Fellowship

The Princeton in Latin America (PiLA) Fellowship is a unique program that places recent college graduates in year-long service-oriented fellowships with Latin American and Caribbean NGOs working in social development. PiLA Fellows work in fields ranging from microfinance to natural resource conservation, health, education reform, community development and human rights.

Award / Eligibility Details:

Application for PiLA fellowships in Latin America and the Caribbean is open to graduates of accredited U.S. and Canadian universities. PiLA rarely considers applicants more than five years past the bachelors; individuals with graduate degrees and postgraduate work experience are welcome to apply.

Fellows make a commitment by covering their roundtrip international airfare and the cost of required insurance in the field. An application fee and placement fee are also paid by the fellow. Partner organizations ordinarily cover the balance of costs, providing a subsistence stipend to cover housing, utilities, food and local transportation.
