Return to Fellowship SearchThe Program provides a nine month paid fellowship to twelve graduate students who are specializing in emergency management, public administration, public health, public safety, public policy, and other related fields. The John D. Solomon Fellowship Program is the first student fellowship in New York City government devoted specifically to emergency management. Each fellow will receive a $10,000 stipend and commit roughly 15 to 20 hrs per week at their placement in an agency of New York City government or a nonprofit organization. The fellows, who are students that reside in New York City, will be assigned an agency mentor and will engage in a wide variety of activities including representing their assigned agency at community and local government meetings, undertaking various individual and agency-directed projects, organizing and participating in community service projects, and working towards enhancing the preparedness and resilience of New York City.
