Return to Fellowship SearchFlexMed allows college sophomores in any major to apply for early assurance to our school of medicine. Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is the first medical school in the United States to create a new and progressive approach for students who seek early assurance of admission to medical school. Once accepted, students will be free to pursue their area of study, unencumbered by the traditional science requirements and MCAT. This program is an expansion of the longstanding Humanities and Medicine Early Assurance Program (HuMed) and the Science and Medicine Program (SciMed).
Award / Eligibility Details:
MCATs are not required but students must submit SAT scores, high school transcripts, letters of recommendation and written application materials. A personal interview at Mt. Sinai is required. Students are also expected to have one year of biology and one year of chemistry. The program provides an 8 week Summer Program at Mt. Sinai between the junior and senior year which includes clinical service rotations, an organic chemistry/physics course, free housing and weekly ethics discussions.
