    Department of Housing Preservation and Development Housing Fellowship Program

    This program exposes the participants to the inner workings of New York City government, while providing a forum for the exchange of fresh and current ideas with those who shape HPD’s housing policy. Fellows work first for four months in three different offices of their choosing at HPD, learning about the agency’s efforts to revitalize New York City’s neighborhoods through construction, renovation, code enforcement, litigation, and outreach and loans to private owners. In the second year, fellows typically have two six-month or one 12-month placement.

    Award / Eligibility Details:

    Applicant must be a recent graduate with a master’s or law degree with a demonstrated interest in government and housing. Selected applicant must become a resident of New York City within ninety days following the start of employment.
